The Arboretum Trompenburg in Kralingen east in Rotterdam is a beautiful piece of nature of no less than 14 acres in the middle of the city. It’s history goes back to the 19th century.
This garden with a unique collection of among others trees, bushes, cactuses, succulents, a pond with gold fish and an aviary was started when the Smith family took it upon themselves to populate the garden with special flora.
Thanks to the open design of the gardens you have the experience of walking through park that continues to fascinate at every corner. Definitely recommended to those looking to escape the busy city life for a second. Except for Monday and Friday you’re also welcome all throughout the week to lean back and enjoy a Trompenburg Tea in the tea house in this beautiful surrounding.
