Domplein in Utrecht

At the Domplein (Dom Square) in Utrecht you first run into the Domkerk and the Domtoren. Two sights you really can’t miss when visiting Utrecht.

On the square you next find a number of monuments that represent the turbulent history of the square and city. From the Union of Utrecht to the prosecution of gays in the 17th century.

Did you know that below the Domplein there’s also a sight worth visiting? The Schatkamer I (Treasure Room I) gives a glimpse into the 2000 year history of the square. And following Schatkamer I, in 2014 also Schatkamer II named DOMunder, was opened which allows for a walk down history.
