In the Natuurhistorisch Museum (Natural History Museum) in Maastricht there’s actually a real Kids Museum during your day out. Like you can find on the website, it’s an interactive museum with many fun puzzles and searches for kids between 8 and 12 years old.
Here you get to explore the geologic history of the region Zuid-Limburg, with an abundance of fossils and various stones. From the Ice Age with only animals with dense fur were able to live in the area down to the Cretaceous during which only the terrifying Mosasaurus of no less than 10 meters long was roaming the neighborhood.
Also there’s a section where the regional flora and fauna are being exhibited to teach you everything about the forests, life under water and for kids a peek underground in the region.
