Including the impressive sundial from 1731 at the Turfsingel, the Prinsentuin (Prince’s garden) is a pearl in the city center of Groningen. The reason that the sundial is impressive, is that it, besides the local time, also tells the duration of the day in sun hours, Babylonic hours and Italian hours.
Every year the Prinsentuin is the decor for the event Dichters in the Prinsentuin (Poets in the Prince’s garden).
The garden consists of 5 square planes with an herbal garden, a rose garden and beautiful green arches that take you back to the time of the Renaissance while you stroll through the garden.
