Nightlife in Groningen thanks its popularity to the many students in the city. They form the largest part of the inhabitants of the city. And that means that there´s no shortage of entertainment.
Obviously with enough bars, but there are also many nice clubs to go out for a night on the town.
Despite the nightlife being concentrated around a few areas, this says little about the variety that´s offered. The benefit is that your taxi costs are kept to a minimum since everything is at walking distance.
You´ll notice the effects of this in the sense that the crowd moves around quite a bit during the night. Most clubs don´t have entrance fees, so why wouldn´t you do the same!
